In our second podcast, historian Elizabeth Williams, Visiting Fellow in the History department of Goldsmiths University of London, talks about racism in British Academia. Williams discusses “color blind racism” and focuses on the experience of female BME (black and minority ethnic Britons) scholars.

Dr Williams’ monograph, The Politics of Race in Britain and South Africa: Black British Solidarity and the Anti-Apartheid Struggle was published in 2015. (The paperback version was published in 2017). It explored in depth the untold socio-political history of the British Anti-Apartheid Movement and interconnections with the politics of race in Britain and South Africa from the late nineteenth century to the end of the twentieth century.
